Your website can be even more dynamic with our new, flexible style template

Some of the best websites in the world are ever-evolving and changing to meet the needs of their viewers and customers. They are dynamic and individual, just like you. This is why we are excited to introduce our newest style template: Super Flat.

This new style provides a neutral base while remaining modern and stylish. The single most amazing aspect of Super Flat is the incredible flexibility the style offers.

We’ve compiled 17 unique themes (and counting) with coordinated color palettes and fonts that will help capture your visitors’ attention. The themes act like skins that are applied to all of your pages, providing a cohesive and uniform design across your website.

To switch to Super Flat, go to the “Style” tab and type in “Super Flat” in the search bar or browse the styles that are there.

Super Flat paired with the Style Designer demonstrates just how flexible this template can be and how much design control you have over your website. With a click of your mouse, you can switch between a sleek, modern webpage to a calming, organic feeling one.

To access the themes, navigate to Style Designer by clicking the palette icon or by clicking “Style Settings” then “Style Designer” in the same tab.

While there are so many options to choose from, here are a few tips to help you determine which themes and fonts are best suited for you.

Use colors. We’ve added the themes to help you choose with your color palette, however you can customize your colors to suit your brand. You’ll want to limit yourself to a few colors for text or backgrounds for a cohesive look and feel.

Sizing helps. With Super Flat you can customize the banner image size and space. Instead of having the banner take up a large part of the page, you can shrink the size of it using Style Designer. This will also help your readers see the great content you have below.

Make text legible. You want your visitors to be able to read your content. Like with colors, consider using only one to three fonts (headline, sub headline and body copy) so that site visitors can easily scan your content.

We hope that this new style will help you to better express yourself or your business. There’s so much you can do with Super Flat, so stay tuned for more tips, or take it for a spin and create a new site.

We can’t wait to see the beautiful sites you create! Feel free to share links to your new Super Flat sites in the comments below.

I agree. there should be an option to have navigation menu bar below the banner.

I can’t work out how to alter the properties in the facebook “like” button in my footer

      Hi Leah,

Can you tell us what you are trying to customize?

  • Al Parfett

I would really like more template options with left side navigation. There seems to be about 3-5 and all the rest are above the banner. I’m super exited to try the super flat design as banner size has been a big issue for me. I have been choosing templates with no banner and sneaking the banner picture in under ther header tab.
I also would like more options with shopping cart – I struggle with the un-attractive buy buttons…but what frustrates me is when you choose which products to display on your page, then when the customer comes along and clicks on one, the whole store opens and all products are available! I would like a second website and limit the products into categories, but it’s actually impossible. Is there going to be a way of holding those products back from customers once they have entered the store?

      Hi Al,

Thanks so much for your feedback. We haven’t had a lot of requests for vertical navigation so that’s good to know it’s something you are looking for.

Regarding your online store question, as we mentioned on Facebook, you can create a hidden product or category. Alll enabled products and categories in a disabled category don’t appear in the product browser, but still can be opened using a direct link. From there, your visitors can then access the rest of your store, but it can’t be configured to only show the other categories after adding a product to the shopping bag. For more information about creating hidden products and categories, please visit our store partner’s link: http://kb.ecwid.com/…/Hidden%20products%20and%20categories
