How to add a drop-down box

A drop-down box is a menu that normally appears when you hover over, or click, a main menu item on a site's navigation. While we do not have a widget that allows you to add a drop-down box to your menus, you can make use of an HTML generator to create the code for to do this.

Here's one that will do it for you: http://www.htmlbasix.com/dropmenu.shtml. This website contains a form for you to fill in with the URL (web address) of each of your pages along with the text you want in the menu for each link in the box.

To get the URL of your Yola page the easiest thing to do is:
  1. Create all your pages.
  2. Publish your site.
  3. Go to your published site and copy the URL from your browser window for each page.
Once you've filled in the form on the htmlbasix site and generated your HTML code and copied it, go to your Sitebuilder and:
  1. Drag and drop the HTML Code Widget onto your page.
  2. Paste the code from htmlbasix into the HTML editor.
  3. Click "Save".
The drop-down box will appear on your page.

Please note: Because this feature is not something we currently offer, we do not have the resources on hand to guide you through the process of adding it. Make use of our Community Forum and post your question there - we have a number of community members who are very savvy with custom code issues who are eager to help fellow members out in our community forum.
