How do you get customers or visitors to your site?<\/p>\n<p>This is all done through <a title=\"SEO, SEM and PPC: An Easy Intro for Small Business Part 1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yola.com\/blog\/seo-sem-and-ppc-an-easy-intro-for-small-business-part-1\/\" target=\"_blank\">Search Engine Optimization<\/a> (SEO) and through adding content and keywords to your web pages so that both people and search engines understand what it is that your website offers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5675\" alt=\"Search Engine Optimization\" src=\"https:\/\/blogcontent.yola.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/Fotolia_38937135_XS.jpg\" width=\"346\" height=\"346\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Search engines \u201cread\u201d your website, looking for keywords and relevancy. The algorithm then categorizes your site under that specific keyword.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s say you are a general contractor who specializes in kitchen remodeling. Your website should be about your work. To improve your website&#8217;s search engine visibility for a certain keyword, such as\u00a0&#8220;<strong>easy kitchen remodeling<\/strong>,&#8221; you may want to consider creating a page that targets the keyword specifically.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a checklist that you can\u00a0reference and complete as time permits.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step #1 &#8211; Add a New Page<\/strong><br \/>\nWithin your website&#8217;s editor, find the link or option that will allow you to \u201cAdd New Page.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step #2 &#8211; Page Title and Heading<\/strong><br \/>\nName your page and or heading\u00a0&#8220;easy kitchen remodeling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step #3 &#8211; Update the Page&#8217;s Keyword Properties and Meta Tag<\/strong><br \/>\nLook for a section called \u201cPage Properties\u201d or \u201cMeta Tags,\u201d and enter in\u00a0&#8221; easy kitchen remodeling &#8221;\u00a0in the keywords section.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step #4 &#8211; Update the Page&#8217;s Description Properties and Meta Tag<\/strong><br \/>\nLook for a section called \u201c<a title=\"Yola Tutorials: Adding Title, Descripition, and Keyword Tags\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yola.com\/tutorials\/article\/Adding-title-description-and-keywords-tags-1285944418844\/Promotion_SEO_Traffic_and_Advertising\" target=\"_blank\">Page Properties<\/a>\u201d or \u201cMeta Tags.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the description section add a short description of what your company does. Depending on the amount of text, you\u2019ll want to use it about 3-5 times in the page&#8217;s text.<\/p>\n<p>Keep in mind that you are <a title=\"Drive Traffic to your Yola Site, Strategy #2: Create Content\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yola.com\/blog\/drive-traffic-to-your-yola-site-strategy-2-create-content\/\" target=\"_blank\">writing content for search engines<\/a> AND people. Don\u2019t be overly repetitive just to fit in keywords.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step #6 &#8211; Add a Picture<\/strong><br \/>\nSpruce up the page by adding a picture.
