I like to think of myself as crafty, I’ve even tried my hand at some handmade hair clips<\/a> myself! However, being able to leverage your handmade goodies into a full time business takes a lot more than a creative streak, it requires an entrepreneurial spirit and a head for business. Founder and designer Felicia Wallace has demonstrated she has both in spades!<\/p>\n

She started out making her handmade hair bows for her daughter, and then her friends but her business quickly grew when her products moved into custom boutiques. She now has even larger retailers placing orders for these darling hair bows by the hundreds. That’s one successful hobby!<\/p>\n

According to Ken Wallace, “Yola allowed us to build a professional looking business website easily and quickly, and has already had a positive impact on our company’s business. We were contacted by a large distributor in Japan before we had the site, so one of our goals was to have a professional web presence. It must have worked because they made a very large purchase, and have asked to be our exclusive distributor in the Japanese market.<\/em><\/p>\n

A very helpful aspect of Yola is the series of tutorials on promoting the finished website<\/a>. It enabled us to fine tune keywords<\/a> and language on the site, to list with the major search engines and directories<\/a>, and to get Google Analytics up and running<\/a>. We are still in the process of marketing the site to get the word out, but it is underway and we are enthusiastic about the future potential.”<\/em><\/p>\n
