It’s been awhile since we’ve whet your appetite and ours by showing off one of our more tasty websites. Ming Makes Cupcakes<\/a> is a delectable collection of tasty bite sized treats that you can make yourself. If you can build a website<\/a> on Yola.com you can recreate these gourmet cupcakes at home.<\/p>\n

Ming Thompson, site owner and creator of Ming Makes Cupcakes<\/a> tells us the site was created “as a chronicle of my experiments in the kitchen. I didn’t have any great cake recipes on hand, so I wanted to create a systematic catalog that could be a kitchen reference in the future.”<\/p>\n

An online recipe resource may have been the initial objective but we think Ming achieved a highly stylized website with a clean and modern site design. Each creation jumps off the page making it as much a treat for your eyes as the recipes are for your tummy.<\/p>\n

I wanted the site to look clean and simple, so I used a basic template<\/a>, and laid out the recipes and photos as if they were pages from a cookbook. I was happy with how the site looked, but in order to make it more user-friendly, I used the blog feature<\/a> to add a text component and to allow people to subscribe<\/a>. I found Yola’s interface to be very straightforward for a new blogger, and I have had great customer service experiences with the Yola team.<\/em>\u2014Ming Thompson<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
