Adding New Pages & Photos

In this tutorial we are going to add a second page to your site.

Step 1: Adding a New Page

This time when you launch Yola you will be taken to the Welcome Page, where you will see the site you created in Lesson One. Open your site. This will take you to the Home Page of your site.

There are two options available for adding new pages.

Option 1 - Click on "New Page"

A dialog box will open up and give you the opportunity to name your page. You will also be able to choose between a web page or a blog page. The name you type in will be both your filename and the name of the new page, as it will appear in your site menu. Since we are going to be adding images on this page, I have called mine "Images." By default the page heading is the same as your site heading or, if you wish, you can type in a different heading for your new page.

Option 2 - Click on "Site Manager"

Then type in the name of your new page in the space provided.

Step 2: Adding an Image

We are going to add an image to this page. When your new page opens up, drag and drop the image widget onto your page.

The File Manager will open up so that you can upload images. Browse for the image you want to upload click "ok." The newly uploaded image will be highlighted. Click "ok" in the image selector to add it to your page.

You can drag the red square to resize your image. Use the Properties sidebar to reposition your image. You can also edit your image with Picnik, a powerful image manipulating tool.

If you would like to add several images in a row, drag and drop a text widget. You can then use "insert image" to add images in any format you wish.

You have just learned how to add images to your page! Now Save and Preview your page to see what it will look like live on the internet.

Want to go back and see the first page you created? Click the drop-down list in the Page tab. Click on index (the Home page) to open and view.

Once you have added some images to your page, you have completed the tutorial. You can play around with images a bit more if you wish, or click on this link to view more tutorials: Yola Tutorials.

Don't forget to save your page whenever you make changes to it!
