How do I find out how many visitors I have had on my site?
To see how many visitors you have had on your website you have two options. You can add a hit counter or you can add Google Analytics (we recommend Google Analytics!)
If you decide that you would rather add a hit counter, here are some you can try:
Adding a hit counter:
Add a hit counter by using the Widgetbox Gallery:
- Drag and drop a Widgetbox Gallery widget onto your page.
- A dialog box will open, search for "hit counter".
- Choose the counter that you would like to use on your site and customize the settings.
- Click on the green "Get Widget" button and it will be saved and added to your page.
- Save and preview your page to view the widget.
Click on the Widgets folder on the Content sidebar and several of the integrated services have hit counters (Widget Box and Google Gadgets). Here's one you can find on Google Gadgets: hit counter. To add this widget to your site:
- Drag and drop the Google Gadget onto your page (you will find it in the "Advanced" folder).
- Click on the link in the dialog box that will take you to Google Gadgets and search for "hit counter".
- Copy the code and paste it into the Yola dialog box.
If Widgetbox and Google Gadgets don't give you a hit counter you like, you could Google for "free hit counter" and use a service like website-hit-counters.com. You can embed one of these hit counters in your page by:
- Copying the HTML code the hit counter service provides.
- Dragging and dropping an HTML widget onto your page and pasting the code into the HTML editor.
Adding Google Analytics:
We have a great tutorial for adding Google Analytics here: Adding Analytics.
Are you wondering if your site is getting traffic; and if so how much? Traffic is the lifeblood of a website and to track and measure the traffic your site is getting, we recommend adding Google Analytics to your site. This application will help you track not only the traffic that comes to your website, but also analyze your visitors' locations and behavior on your site, letting you know which parts of your site are the most popular/effective.
